Lexus NX Reliability
Lexus NX Safety Systems
Part of reliability is safety. The unexpected can happen, and your Lexus NX is prepared for it with a suite of standard driver-assist and safety features under the name of the Lexus Safety System+ 2.0. Some of these features include:
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Road Sign Assist
- Intelligent High Beams
Another standard safety system in the Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. This system can detect a vehicle, person, or even bike ahead of you using radar and cameras. If they slow and the system thinks an accident might occur, it will warn you and apply the brakes.
If you’re someone who travels on the highway often, the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist is a standard feature you might find helpful. This feature monitors lane markings, and if it senses you are unintentionally drifting out of your lane, it will alert you and apply corrective steering.
Lexus NX Warranty
When you purchase a new Lexus NX, it comes with a warranty that might cover things like longer-term care, your powertrain, and more.
The basic warranty that comes with a Lexus covers your NX for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty also covers things like wheel alignment and balancing for 12 months. You can also get repairs for defects and normal maintenance services like engine tune-ups.
Your NX also might come with a 72 month or 70,000-mile powertrain warranty, and if you opt for the hybrid NX, a hybrid warranty for eight years or 100,000 miles.
Overall Brand Dependability
How do you know Lexus vehicles are reliable? To help consumers figure that out, J.D. Power puts out a U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study every year, which shows how many issues per 100 cars that the brand has. In the J.D. 2021 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, the industry average was 121 problems per 100 vehicles, or 121 pp. So, how does Lexus compare?
Lexus comes out as the highest-ranked among luxury brands with the lowest number of problems with vehicle dependability. Lexus scored an 81 pp, much less than the industry average and beating out brands like Porsche, Acura, and BMW. This means that you’re getting top reliability when buying a Lexus.
