Lexus LS 500 Maintenance Schedule

The Lexus LS 500 is a powerful and luxurious sedan, elegantly styled and ready to travel the roads ahead. As the miles add up on the odometer, drivers in Larchmont, New Rochelle and Yonkers will need service for this standout vehicle.

The staff at Lexus of Larchmont strives to keep every Lexus vehicle that comes through our service center in the best shape possible. We provide service for the 2018 LS 500 and many other Lexus vehicles. We’ve put together this helpful maintenance schedule, explaining what services need to be performed and when they should be done.  Schedule a service appointment today.

Every 5,000 Miles

This is the first time your Lexus LS 500 will receive service. Our maintenance team will take it for a road test to see how it feels.

Fluid levels will be inspected and adjusted if need be. This includes windshield washer fluid, oil, brake fluid and coolant. The tires will also be rotated as this point, to ensure they’re wearing evenly as you drive. Proper wear and tear on the tires maximizes fuel efficiency and provides a smooth ride.

This is the first time the oil will be changed, after 10,000 miles of driving. When the engine has fresh oil, the car performs the way it should. The old oil will be changed, and the engine oil filter will be replaced, too. This filter keeps dust and dirt away from the engine, but as it does its job, it will become clogged if it’s not changed.

The cabin air filter will be replaced, too. This filter is similar to the engine air filter, as it keeps pollen and contaminants out of the cabin. If you’ve noticed you’re not breathing as clearly as you once were, it could have to do with the cabin filter.

Every 15,000 Miles

Wheel balancing is a way to reduce tire wear and ensure the 2018 Lexus LS 500 remains a fuel-efficient vehicle. The tires will be balanced and rotated, and the road test will be done again, too.

We’ll also perform these maintenance items, inspecting:

  • Axle shaft boots
  • Ball joints and dust covers
  • The body
  • Brake lines and hoses

Engine coolant will receive an inspection. We’ll look for any leaks around the radiator and ensure coolant levels are where they should be.

Every 30,000 Miles

At this maintenance interval, the brake fluid will be checked, to ensure this critical component of your car is working as it should. The replacement of the engine air filter will keep dirt and other contaminants away from the engine area.

Service at 30,000 miles also includes a check of:

  • Fuel lines and connections
  • The fuel tank cap gasket
  • Transmission
  • Brake rotors

Every 60,000 Miles

Spark plugs are an important part of the ignition. When you put the key in the ignition (or press the start button, in some vehicles), the ignition coil starts a spark which tells the engine cylinders to start the car. Spark plugs will wear down as time moves on, and need replacement every 60,000 miles.

Previous LS 500 maintenance items will also be covered, including:

  • Replacing the cabin air filter
  • Replacing the engine air filter
  • Inspecting the drive belt
  • Inspecting engine coolant
