Lexus IS 350 Maintenance Schedule
The Lexus IS 350 is a sporty and comfortable sedan, with a luxurious interior meant for drivers in Larchmont, New Rochelle and Yonkers. As you drive this standout vehicle, there are a few things you’ll need to keep track of it when it comes to maintaining it.
The service professionals at Lexus of Larchmont want to ensure the IS 350 provides a safe, efficient ride every time you step behind the wheel. We’ve put together this maintenance schedule describing what items should be on the maintenance list and when they should be performed. Schedule a service appointment to get started.
Every 5,000 Miles
The first service of your Lexus IS 350 will come at this point. The tires will be rotated. A tire rotation ensures even wear of the tires, with all four tires having the chance to be on the front and back wheels.
Fluid levels will also be inspected and adjusted. This includes coolant, which protects the engine, along with transmission fluid and brake fluid. Before you drive away from our service center, our technicians will perform a visual inspection of the brake pads, calipers and rotors, to ensure the car will stop when you press the brakes. To get a feel for the car, the IS 350 will also receive a brief road test, to see how it’s handling with a technician behind the wheel.
Every 10,000 Miles
This is the first time the oil will be changed in your new Lexus. An oil change keeps the engine properly lubricated so the car will fire up and run properly without any issues. We’ll remove the old oil, replace it with fresh oil, and change the oil filter, too.
The cabin air filter also receives a replacement at the 10,000-mile mark. If air doesn’t seem to be circulating through the cabin or there are strange odors coming through the vents, the air filter probably needs to be replaced. These filters keep dust and pollen from getting into the cabin but can become blocked up over time, so replacement is necessary.
Every 15,000 Miles
We’ll repeat some services every 5,000 miles, including rotating the tires and performing the road test. Maintenance items at the 15,000-mile mark also include:
- Inspecting axle shaft boots
- Inspecting ball joints
- Looking at the body
- Inspecting brake lines and hoses
Coolant, which helps run the engine, will be inspected as well. We’ll check for any leaks near the radiator, too.
Every 30,000 Miles
The brake fluid will need to be replaced at this stage, ensuring the car can drive safely. The brakes should work when you press the brake pedal, and brake fluid is a major reason why they’re able to work.
The engine air filter will be changed, too. The engine air filter is similar to the cabin air filter, as it keeps dust and dirt from getting to the engine.
Every 60,000 Miles
The ignition counts on the spark plugs to work. When you turn the key or press the start button in a car, the ignition coil is what generates the spark, telling the engine cylinders to start the car. The spark plugs will wear down over time, and replacement is needed every 60,000 miles.
