Lexus IS 300 Maintenance Schedule
We’ve put together this convenient 2018 Lexus IS 300 Maintenance Schedule guide to tell you what to expect out of maintenance and when it should be performed. Whether you’re traveling through Larchmont, New Rochelle or Yonkers, your vehicle will be more enjoyable to drive when regular maintenance is completed.
EVERY 5,000 MILES
OUR TECHNICIANS WILL TAKE A FIRST LOOK at your 2018 Lexus IS 300 at the 5,000-mile mark. This service includes a road test, performed to ensure the car is handling as it should while on the roadways. The tires will be rotated at this maintenance interval, too, to ensure more even wear on the tire tread.
We’ll also inspect and adjust all fluid levels, including oil, windshield washer fluid, coolant and brake fluid. A visual inspection will also be done of the brake pads, calipers and rotors, to ensure the car is able to stop properly and provides a safe ride every time you’re behind the wheel.
EVERY 10,000 MILES
The cabin air filter should be replaced at this point. This will ensure the air flows properly through the cabin when the air conditioning or heating system is turned on. If you’ve noticed an odor coming through the vents or the air isn’t flowing properly, the air filter should be changed. This also prevents dust and pollen from entering the cabin.
THIS IS ALSO THE TIME FOR AN OIL CHANGE. The oil change will keep the engine lubricated and running smoothly. Any vehicles using non-synthetic oil will need an oil change every 5,000 miles.
EVERY 15,000 MILES
A tire rotation will be done at this point once again, along with balancing the tires if it’s needed. Service technicians will also inspect:
- The body
- Ball joints and dust covers/
- Brake lines and hoses
- Engine coolant
Your smart key may also need a new battery at this point. We’ll test it to see if it’s working, and if it’s not, it will be replaced.
EVERY 40,000 MILES
AN OIL CHANGE WILL BE COMPLETED once again at this point, along with cabin air filter replacement, tire rotation and wiper blade inspection.
Spark plugs are another important part of the engine, and they should be maintained properly as you drive. They’ll need to be replaced when the odometer hits 40,000 miles. Changing the spark plugs is one way to ensure the engine in your IS 300 starts the way it should.
